Octagon Library The spectacular Octagon Library, designed by Alexander Jackson Davis, was added to the north side of Edgewater in the early 1850s. Robert Donaldson called it his sanctum sanctorum. The unusual carpet design was copied by Bill Thompson and Scalamandré from a ceiling in the Roman Baths of Pompeii. |
