Double Parlors
The spectacular double parlors of Roper House seem to be made for entertaining. Most of the suite of furniture is by Duncan Phyfe, circa 1815-20. David Byers did the curtains at the windows, which double as doors to the piazza. Bill Thompson, working with Scalamandré, did the period carpets and silk upholstery. The chandeliers, once gas-lit, were made for the house.
